Title: Re: autobox clunk reverse Post by Dave2302 on Nov 6th, 2006, 8:21pm Hi Pedro, Most likely play in something in driveline. Check rubber joint on back of gearbox, then propshaft UJ's then diff, then driveshaft CV jonts. If in doubt get it up on a 4 Post Ramp with helper inside, handbrake on and engine running. FOOT ON FOOTBRAKE, get them to engage D then R alternately, while you watch and listen for play from underneath. Regards |

Title: Re: autobox clunk reverse Post by mr._floppy on Nov 6th, 2006, 9:19pm Mine has done this since I got it, about half a second after you engage reverse there is a slight transmission bump, then half a second later reverse is engaged. I'm happy to ignore it as the autobox is otherwise perfect. |

Title: Re: autobox clunk reverse Post by mazzy_j on Nov 7th, 2006, 8:55am merseyscorp, my manual is the opposite, it clunks from 1st to second. It had a new clutch not that long ago and that didn't cure it so i'm thinking its along the lines of the engine mounts. Strangely, it doesn't clunk if i double de-clutch ??? Matt |
