Title: strange idle.
Post by cossieguy on Nov 14th, 2006, 3:06pm
Car starts fine and idles nicely at 750rpm, drive car up to temp and when you go in neutral or park the revs sit at about 1100rpm steady as anything >:( Have changed the IACV didn't help. What else could cause this? I assume it would also relate to my poor fuel economy at the moment aswell. The MAF is clean as I clean it fairly regulary. Forgot to add if you turn off the ignition then turn back on(When car is at temp) it tries to idle at 1100rpm. When car has cooled down and you start it it revs at 750 again.

Hi Guy,

Try a scan, looking for faults.  Look at the live data also, as you can see the desired RPM that the ecu wants to give and the actual RPM and compare them.

Regards,

Consider cleaning the throttle body and butterfly valves, as well as oiling the butterfly valve springs.
