Air leak? Collapsed cat? Old spark plugs/leads? Sticking accelerator cable?

Are there any odd noises or unusual behaviour? Does it make a sort of woosh/sigh when you turn it off?

Yeah, we had one of those last Sunday, £300 at the vet thankyou very much >:( ::)

I looked at a cossie a while back and it was the same, no poke whatsoever, I find it hard to imagine they're all like this, seems to be a problem some people have. Went into kickdown oh so easily but seemed to be labouring all the time like going uphill. Owner denied there was any problem with it.

I'm thinking some injector cleaner and a decent quality tank of fuel for a start and a good run on a motorway or fast road. Try cleaning and resetting the plugs, check the coils/HT leads and check the average MPG on the computer, if it's using more fuel than usual this may give some clues. When was the car last serviced? new air filter?  Does it go into kickdown ok? does it change up/down gear ok?

Regards, Bruce.

Nice one, hope it stays like it ;)

Was speaking to a chap today and got onto the subject of cars, he said he bought a bug eye Scorpio Ultima 24v at auction for £300 a couple of years back, all it needed was a new front bumper+headlamp lens.

Says it was the best car he'd ever owned...

Regards, Bruce.

yeah we think there a great car but still not sure wether i prefer the bug eyed beast of a 24 v or my old g reg 2.9 12v which did leap from the word go but the bug eyed is far more superior,i might have to tackle the wire loom soon
all the best
