I have only had my 24V ultima a few days... just Noticed I have got no passenger side headlight! Fitted a new bulb...still no light. I have looked at the fuses beside that battery, they look OK. They are not lablled though? Are their more fuses? or anyone have any ideas that might "illuminate" the problem!

There are a number of fuses and relays to check. Central fuse box (Drivers side) Fuse 5,Dipped beam nearside.Fuse 10 Main Beam nearside. Also check relay No 6 which covers the main beam. Details of all controls etc are in the handbook HERE (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/handbook.htm) and you'll find the fuses and relays on pages 130- 135. Click on the page to enlarge. Lets hope that throws some 'light' on the subject. ;)

Thank you for the suggestions guys. I'll get started on them in the morning. I think I need a workshop manual. Here's hoping it'll be a quick fix.

Forgot to mention. yes it does have a battery cover.

Don't waste time looking for a workshop manual. This site exists,apart from any other reason, because there isn't a Haynes manual for this model. All the 'workshop manual' detail,provided by Fords, is on this site along with a mass of experience built up over years by the owners.

Yes, I realise that now Simmo. The advice and help on this site is second to none!
Still struggling with this passengerside head light.
Fuse is OK
disconnected the multi-plug next to the light. Their is no power to the headlight (full beam and side light is OK) checked it with a test light.......maybe a break in the wire feeding the light ?
What do you guys recon? Any thoughts on getting round this problem?

If fuse 5 is ok and drivers side lamp works then you're looking for a break in the loom or bad earth.

Check for 12v against both sides of fuse 5 and earth (just in case), then go to the headlamp plug and test for 12v between the two bulb pins and also between the feed pin and earth (a bare part on the chassis). If it's dead all round you're looking for a break in the loom, if you get 12v between the feed pin and a bare metal part on the chassis then you're looking for a bad earth connection.

Explained perfectly Bruce, I was getting a live at the side light and full beam. The other connections at the plug were dead. I did have a good earth to connect to.
So it looks like a break in the loom.
I did change the fuse just to see, even though the no5 looked OK. No difference.
if I pull the fuse box out, would I be able to get at the live connection and run another wire to the bulb?

Don't touch the fusebox unless you really have to. I'm not sure where the loom runs on the Scorpio but I'd trace it backwards from the plug and see if I could find the damage. You could run a new feed but I wouldn't go there, sometimes tapping into looms can cause problems later on no matter how well you do it. It only needs that wire to start shorting a year down the line and you'll have endless grief, I had the same myself on another car which had a new headlamp circuit run inside the engine bay, caused so much grief that I traced and repaired the original loom in the end.

There is a chance that it's a multiplug on the fusebox but I have no idea what connector it uses, my guess is that if all the other lights work then the fusebox connector is ok, somebody else may be able to help you more there.
