hi all, sorry to keep going on about my auto box.. this is whats happened and as always any advice is greatly appreciated...

when i tried to move the car this is what happens..
i dont seem to have neutral... in neutral the car still tries to accelerate forwards slowly... in park, foot down the enjine revs will not go above 2000... reverse does nothing the car dont move, 1,2&Drive the car seems to want to go forward but i darent risk it incase i cant get it back outside the house...

the good news (or bad news) is that ive checked the oil level in the auto box and the oil isnt even touching the dipstick..its bone dry...

is it worth buying oil to fill it up or has the gearbox had it??? also where do you put the oil in? im sure ive read somewhere it does in the dipstick place but i just want to check?

many thanks once again
kev

hi there

have you checked with the engine up to temp? then go through the gears 3 times each. check the level with the engine RUNNING AT ALL TIMES.

Filling it with fluid is way cheaper than a new autobox, worth a try before you try anything else ;)

Check the shifter position sensor too, could be messing with the 'box.

And yes the fluid goes down the dipstick hole  :)

EDIT: If you are not sure where the fluid is going, have a look at the autobox cooler connections/pipes as these can and do let go.
