Title: Re: reversing lights Post by Highlander on Dec 5th, 2006, 11:31am Sounds like a bad earth or wiring and most likely near the hinge area. have you checked the wiring loom where it runs under the back seat? |

Title: Re: reversing lights Post by Simmo on Dec 5th, 2006, 6:21pm DD 69, we need some new photos for the loom damage in the hinge area. There were some on the site but they have been removed. Is there any chance you could photograph the problem and post the photos?. |

Title: Re: reversing lights Post by Highlander on Dec 5th, 2006, 6:28pm I think this is a differnet bit to the one Locky posted Mike, if thats the one you meant?? Under the rear seat? I'm assuming DD's is an estate and the damage is at the top near the tailgate hinge. though this would be a good one to post too. |

Title: Re: reversing lights Post by Simmo on Dec 5th, 2006, 6:47pm Stuart,The one I was thinking of was the rear BOOT hinge. I was confused because he talks about the boot and the tailgate. I have an estate but I have not had any problems with the wiring there neither have I seen any posted on here. The ones in the boot were because the large metal hinge was actually striking the loom in that area and thus fracturing the cables. As you know in the estate they actually pass through a rubber sleeve and don't come into contact with the hinge. Perhaps we need to clarify the type of car. Mike. |
