Lambda Probe High Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 2. DPFE Post-Sens hose off/blocked. EGR Malfunction CCT. No P numbers though :( Anyone got any clues as to where Im looking ? This is the same car that kept blowing the EGR vac pipes off the bottom of the pressure transducer doo-hicky when you floored it. |

Title: Re: Lack of power at 4500 RPM Post by Simmo on Jan 21st, 2007, 3:21pm If you read THIS (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/16vlooms.htm) the text says that the throttle position sensor B8 tells the PCM the position of the throttle ie:wide open etc. If so it is located on the throttle body itself BUT to remove it you have to remove the throttle body as the screws are not accessible otherwise. |

Title: Re: Lack of power at 4500 RPM Post by scorpio_man on Jan 21st, 2007, 9:00pm hi there have you checked the cat? a blocked exhaust would blow the pipes off. with a dodgy lambda sensor, you could be overfueling and the cat could be gone. hth |

Title: Re: Lack of power at 4500 RPM Post by tintin on Jan 21st, 2007, 10:39pm sounds familiar..... ;D although my loss of power was through the range, engine just couldnt breathe....try shaking the exhaust, see if anything rattles internally |

Title: Re: Lack of power at 4500 RPM Post by allenjames on Jan 22nd, 2007, 7:32am at idle it revs fine though right up to redline. If I floor it and it gets to 5000rpm and stays there, when i ease off it will continue up to 6000rpm not that I like being at these engine speeds, but when overtaking you look a thingy when you get alongside and just sit there with nothing more to go. |

Title: Re: Lack of power at 4500 RPM Post by scorpio_man on Jan 22nd, 2007, 8:14am hi there have you done the usual stuff.... check the coilpacks and wiring? make sure the spark plugs are ok and are torqued in? cleaned MAF? clean airfilter, etc? hth |

Title: Re: Lack of power at 4500 RPM Post by scorpio_man on Jan 22nd, 2007, 8:28am hi there re-reading the posts, how about 1. fit new lambda (check wiring first) 2. check for air leak (egr?) 3. fuel pressure regulator hth btw, still think there's something wrong on the exhaust side as the pipes would only come off under pressure. |

Title: Re: Lack of power at 4500 RPM Post by Simmo on Jan 22nd, 2007, 8:48am I'm sure there is a mention on the site about the pipes being blown off. Can't locate that but This (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/flatspot.htm) article by Eric R might help. |

Title: Re: Lack of power at 4500 RPM Post by scorpio_man on Jan 22nd, 2007, 8:56am hi there sorry, just seen your post in parts wanted. i thought it was the pre cat sensor that was playing up. the post cat (no.2) sensor only monitors the cats pereformance, so shouldn't cause any running issues. hth |

Title: Re: Lack of power at 4500 RPM Post by allenjames on Jan 22nd, 2007, 9:00am its bank 1 sensor 2 - whichever one that is. |

Title: Re: Lack of power at 4500 RPM Post by allenjames on Jan 22nd, 2007, 9:08am im gutted - if it is the cat then i think its game over. Ive thrown a steering rack at it in the last 6 months, its been vandalised and scratched on every panel except the roof. but I just love driving it. |

Title: Re: Lack of power at 4500 RPM Post by scorpio_man on Jan 22nd, 2007, 11:08am hi there best bet would be to go in to a fast fit place and get them to have a look. then you say you'll need to wait until you get paid, etc. ;) hth |

Title: Re: Lack of power at 4500 RPM Post by tintin on Jan 22nd, 2007, 11:39am Hiya, Ive got a cossie with a blown engine nr Telford. Exhaust system looks good, both cats were done 25,000 miles ago. I even have a couple of brand new sensors up here in edinburgh. I think DJWerkz was interested, but if not, and you can pick up/strip off, you can have the complete exhaust system for £50, sensors £20 each + p&p (i paid £40 odd). That should sort the exhaust out for you, for £100 ;D Let me know, |

Title: Re: Lack of power at 4500 RPM - SOLVED !!! Post by allenjames on Mar 29th, 2007, 9:35am Finally got round to being able to afford a new cat and lambda sensor. The old cat brick was broken and blocking the exhaust. The exhaust manifold was also cracked - got this welded up. Anyhow, its all sorted now and drives like a totally different car. Happy Again. |
