Alot of Scorp parts seem to be FMD only....probably due to the fact that not many were sold....hence companies didn't think it worthwhile producing pattern parts :(.....how annoying  >:(

Not even 'Haynes' thought it was worthwhile producing a manual  ::)

But then again, if they had, then this site may never have existed  ;)

i think haynes way of thinking was the car costs around 30 grand, anyone who needs work doing will pay a garage.
haynes manuals are handy, but sometimes a pain, the times i've gone to do some work with one only to read 'this is a complex procedure, it is suggested you refer to your suzuki dealer', doh, i know its complicated, thats why i bought the manual for guidance....

Too be fair - modern cars, even the basic ones are very complex pieces of kit often with a bewildering variety of engine options. I do remember the days when their manuals contained full circuit diagrams and had all the info to strip and service ever part of the car they covered, but they would need to be several volumes per car these days. Hence they only cover the popular bits to need service and limited diagrams.

I had electrical problems with my Granada and looking at the Haynes circuits, found lots of blanks - so I got in touch with them and after lots pressure, they sent me a complete set. It was a pile of A3 1/2" thick.

I phoned my local FMD this morning to get a price on two sill skins and one wheel arch skin . I nearly passed out when they told me 83 plus vat for each skin and ,no this is not a typing error 279 pounds for a wheel arch panel . What can I say ,I just love my old scorp but theres got to be a time to give her up ,and its getting close ......david

Talk to a local body shop?

I had my car written off last September (straight road, side road, give way, dozy bint in Micra, no givey wayey  >:()

The body shop that did the repair also sorted my rusted wheel arch for not very much more - ok, he needed persuading that it didn't need a complete re-spray as well (he  is a bit of a perfectionist ::) - luckily for my wallet, I'm not.)

Ask around, someone will know a good bodywork place. It's not rocket science at the end of the day. A good, honest body shop can sort most things - you won't get that at a main dealer for any marque and insurance companies are pre-disposed to get rid of old stuff. Don't give in...
