Title: Re: HELP,AUTO GEARBOX, VERY WORRIED, HELP Post by TiberiuS on Mar 8th, 2007, 9:11pm Dogma, don't worry mate if the box is working fine :) Just get the fluid and filters changed soon...the problem with any old oil or hydraulic fluid is that it loses its lubricant properties over time and the innards of the gearbox proceed to grind each other to death :-* Regards, Bruce ;) |

Title: Re: HELP,AUTO GEARBOX, VERY WORRIED, HELP Post by Dave on Mar 9th, 2007, 7:47am I had mine done at a garage, cost me £50 for the labour, and I bought the parts separately for about the same again IIRC. As had been said, if the box is working fine then don't worry. However, if the box is working fine then a fluid and filter change should keep it working fine 8) |

Title: Re: HELP,AUTO GEARBOX, VERY WORRIED, HELP Post by dogma on Mar 9th, 2007, 9:39am Blimey mate, i need your mechanic. I just spent over an hour trying to buy a filter and new seals. Every place i called said it was a dealer only part so, i called fords. The filter is a wopping 36 pounds :oand the new seals which is cheaper to buy as a kit is a 32 pound :o ???.
