I have the 1995 V6 12 Valve ultima that had a TSB issued concerning a faulty SATC (Semi Automatic Temp Contol - Unit) and a faulty outside temprature sensor, and had problems in that I could not reset the air conditioning system.

I have had the SATC replaced with a second hand unit but I now have another problem.

Originally, when I turned the left hand knob as far left as it would go, the green air con light went out and I was able to hold the air con and recirc knobs down for 10 seconds to commence the reset procedure. My garage seem to have refitted everything so that this no longer works. It appears now as if the positions are one slot out - far left on the left hand knob now appears to be the auto setting, and I can not turn the aircon off at all ( I can turn the green air con light off with the air con control), but can not set up the reset procedure.

As the knobs on this model don't come off I am not sure what the garage have done wrong.

If any one can help I would appreciate it.

hi there

have you tried to reset it, even with the a/c light on? sometimes it just 'forgets' it's dial positions.

if that doesn't work, try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes with the dial set for the reset.
