Title: Re: overdrive Post by scorpio_man on Apr 6th, 2007, 9:45pm hi there if the light flashes, then it indicates an issue with the gearbox. you need to check it out asap. check the level/smell of the fluid. get the 'box up to temp. with the engine running, cycle through the gears 3 times each. again with the engine running check the level. you also need to get it scaned as an error code will be stored. |

Title: Re: overdrive Post by the_boogeyman on Apr 7th, 2007, 10:08am get your self a can of carb cleaner and spray into the hole where the wire is, this will clean the wire, as for the fluid it should be red not brown red------------------good brown----------------bad black----------b****red |

Title: Re: overdrive Post by welshbest on Apr 7th, 2007, 11:03am ok went to halfords and got a can of carb cleener and .............................well lets say it drives like a new car the gear change is crisper and tickover is better i did notice that the gear change between 1 and 2 is ok but from 2 to 3 the revs rase slightly and it seems to slightly slip in to gear can this be adjusted bye the tension bolt on the box |

Title: Re: overdrive Post by scorpio_man on Apr 7th, 2007, 11:35am hi there i wouldn't adjust anything just yet, wait a few days. the o/d light flashed because it saw a problem. as i said, wait a while and see if it was just a dirty MAF that caused it. re the slip in gear changes. it's does a sort of slip as it changes, to make the change smoother. hth |

Title: Re: overdrive Post by the_boogeyman on Apr 7th, 2007, 7:10pm oil and filter change is only £59 at the mo, from most auto garages, i think they are all fighting for trade |
