???fixed the sunroof, changed air filter, put the spongy thing in the air box, changed drive belt. all ok or so i thought,belt seems to be slipping battery light goes out but obviously not charging as after a jump start engine will run for a couple of mins then die. pretty sure i have fitted belt correctley but there is definately some play in it any thoughts? ???

like sm says check the tensioner, sounds daft but have you got the right belt?

tensioner seems ok, belt from halfords so could be wrong. ford shut at 12 so had to get a halfords job. seems the same length

definatly said scorpio cosworth in there book. will put old one back on not that it will last long, have to get the missus to go to fmd on teusday to get one.

swopped belts back over running ok now, halfords part number hb 1420g is no good its about 1/4" too long not alot but enough for it to slip.

it lasted 2o miles :'( disintegrated on the thanet way :'( without my car now to next weekend
