Title: Dead 2.9 Ultima! Post by gurnE on Apr 10th, 2007, 10:15pm Hi guys Very useful site you have here. The buyer guide was invaluable when buying my Scorpio :) Sadly I now have a problem with her >:( She's a 1995 2.9 12V Ultima and on the way home from work she cut out, all the dash lights came on. When I tried to restart I could not get the ignition to come on. Accessory worked fine but in the ignition on position I have no dash lights, nothing. I checked all the fuses in both boxes. Any ideas where to start looking next? Thanks in advance |

If it was the FI relay would that prevent the dash from powering up? Or did you mean it could be another relay? Thanks |

Title: Re: Dead 2.9 Ultima! Post by gurnE on Apr 13th, 2007, 10:58am Well I took a chance on that relay and picked a new on up from Ford this morning but it made no difference. :( So I dropped the steering column cowl off and the ignition barrel was operating properly (power where it should be, when it should be etc) So next I start looking at the various wires and modules around the bottom of the steering column and it just burst into life :) I assume it must have just been a loose connection so I checked all the multiplugs, couldn't find anything loose but it's alive now so will leave it at that and just keep an eye on it 8) |
