Title: Water leak somewhere Post by DJWerkz on Apr 21st, 2007, 11:20pm Would you believe it, seems like only yesterday I got the car back from Powercraft running lovely and now have a new problem! Went to check oil and water as I often do (must be an obsessive compulsive thing!) before heading up to Norfolk to see my parents. Coolant seemed a bit low so topped it up. Ran the car and noticed some water under the car on the near side. Smelt it and sure enough it had coolant in it. Friend turned up just at that moment so I asked him if he could see where it's coming from, he couldn't but the leak got worse when the car was rev'd a little. Am wondering if it's a split hose or something to do with the thermostat housing, can't see any sign of a leak anywhere else. As most of you know, my health prevents from getting under a car so am waiting for the resident mechanic, my brother-in-law to come take a look. |

Title: Re: Water leak somewhere Post by tintin on Apr 22nd, 2007, 12:14am is it a cossie? my (first) leak was from the hose to the thermostat that sits hidden under the n/s manifold. only did it when engine got a bit hot (usually at traffic), hose was ballooning.... ford mechanic diagnosed hgf, thankfully it wasnt ;D |

Title: Re: Water leak somewhere Post by jonnycab on Apr 22nd, 2007, 2:30am If it's a 2.0/2.3 then the water pump is on the near side & could possibly be the cause of the leak. Revving will make it leak more as it is pumping more water :) |

Title: Re: Water leak somewhere Post by DJWerkz on Apr 22nd, 2007, 9:00am It's a Cossie and yes it does 'appear' to be leaking near the location of the thermostat housing. |
