Title: part throttle misfire
Post by scottystar on Apr 22nd, 2007, 10:42am
hi can anyone tell me if this would cause a problem i.e a misfire at certain revs or all the time??

it looks like the heat has made the plastic brittle and the multiplug connector has started to break away u can see the terminals inside.

any ideas thanks

scott

Yes...a faulty coil pack can certainly cause a misfire that only notices under load & not on tickover  :)

I didn't say that the coil was definately defective, just that this kind of thing can cause a misfire  :)

If the connection isn't broken then you could try a dab of superglue to join the two surfaces back together & see if it improves matters  ;)

Mine worked fine with both coil packs cracked there,
although I have replaced them now - just in case.
