My air con for some reason has just given up. I have just put a new blower/fan in, connected everything ok but the air con just doesn't come on. I have reset the CC (a fault code of 51 appeared for a while) but everything seems to be working. The CC switches off when both switches are fully left (both windows show - - as they should) the heater works, auto works, but no air-con. It seems the compressor does not cut in nor does the engine drop down a few revs. Would the AC stop working like this if the system needed re-gassing. Help Please.

yes.

was it working before the blower fan change? have you checked the fuses? you could try putting 12 volts to it directly to see if it's a electrical issue.

Hi scorpio man. Yes it was working before the new fan. No I haven't checked the fuses. (But will now)

Still problems......... I have checked just about everything there is to check. Climate Control unit is working, the little green light is operating. The blower is working, I've reset the climate controls and it shows the '00' which should mean no faults. I've checked the a/c clutch and thats free. The only thing I've found wrong is the pressure in the system. I've got one of those DIY re-gassing kits with the gauge attached and thats showing the pressure in the system is to high. ??? Any help out there in Scorpio land would be very much appreciated.

If the pressure is too high, then this will stop the system working. Same as pressure too low.

Many thanks Atlantic Blue. Do you know what would make the pressure increase.? I realise a leak would lose pressure but to increase.???

Hi. Is that physically possible?

Maybe you should let an AC tech look it over, even if to just measure the charge.

If you don't know when it was last re-gassed it's most likely due, might be cheaper to get it done professionally rather than risk the compressor siezing because of lack of lubricant :-/.

According to the pressure gauge supplied with these DIY kits the pressure is in the red. Which is high. I still cannot understand it. It was working fine until the fan in the blower moter housing packed up. I have replaced the fan which is now working fine, together with the CCu !! Did I miss a connection when putting it back together ??? I think I have double checked everything but still no power to the AC.
