ive lost my only key, have looked everywhere for it and know
it was on my property somewhere but somehow still evades me

the question is does a 2.0 97 ghia 8v lock on its own if left
unattended as the last time i was in the car i was using the rs232 port in the coin box and wondered if it was possible i left the key there

No. I used to leave mine unlocked all the time when I had it stored off road (risky I know) and it never locked me out ;D

Unless you have a remote fob seperate to the key???

A '97, 2.0 8v Ghia....that must be quite rare....

I didn't know they still produced the 2.0, let alone the 8v in '97 :)

And I thought the 8v was only ever sold as an Exec; the two I saw were. Quite a rare model ;)

yeah it confused the AA once aswell all his diagnostic gear was based on 16V
