Post by fordnut on May 31st, 2007, 9:39am
Started to change a few bulbs that need doing all with no problems BUT two bulbs have gone on my climate control facia.Looked on pages on this site but can only find bulb replacement with the ordinary heater controls. Its telling me pull of the dials then the surronding panel so i asume its the same method for the climate control panel in my ultima..Trouble is im meeting some resistance trying to pull of the dials just thought i would ask if this is right befor i start busting things trying to pull things off ...

Do not pull the knobs off, the panle is retained by spring clips that you have to depress then the whole panel comes away leaving the knobs fixed to their shaft.  To prottect the "wood" finish I used to pieces of plastic inserted above and below the panel to depress the clips, card about thickness of credit card was ok, then gently ease panle out be aware of connection cable behind it.  3 bulbs in there to change.

I'm not sure what page you found but THIS one (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/fasciabulbs.htm) shows both types and explains the method of removal.
