Title: Uhm.. HELP? Post by Kjetil S on May 31st, 2007, 6:16pm Hello, I have changed the front HO2S sensor on my 16v and now the car runs like an old box of spanners, rpm hunting up and down, idle or full throttle no difference, stalling, etc. If I give it enough throttle, sometimes it backfires. It is one of the universal ones. I've tried disconnecting the sensor, and there is no difference. Help! Anyone? |

I think the sound has disappeared during the upload, but the rpm counter should show what I'm talking about. I held the throttle steady at ~50% or so |

Title: Re: Uhm.. HELP? Post by Kjetil S on May 31st, 2007, 8:32pm I did a 12km test drive now, and the idle seems good now, however. It refuses to run quietly at low speeds, and it refuses to go above 4500rpm And if I don't take it easy on the throttle, I wouldn't exactly call it smooth. Edit: forgot to add that when I got home I popped open the bonnet and there was a good load of smoke on the inlet side of the engine, looked like it came from the rear. I couldn't locate where it came from. |

Title: Re: Uhm.. HELP? Post by Kjetil S on May 31st, 2007, 8:55pm UPDATE I may have found the fault.. :-[ It seems like I've managed to block off the air filter (3rd party conical filter, or gravel/wasp stopper as my neighbor calls it). It seemed to rev just fine after unblocking it. (Haven't tried it with load yet. I'm going to put the new sensor in first.) |

Title: Re: Uhm.. HELP? Post by Kjetil S on May 31st, 2007, 9:50pm Yep, that was it. It runs just fine now. The sensor changes output from ~0.2V and ~0.7/0.8V too, so I guess that the old one was faulty (changing between 0.01 and 0.45 at part throttle) |
