Hi all, I ve posted before about the ABS/TCS warning lights on my cossie. I ve had the rear sensors checked, changed the rear disks and pads which were low but the lights are still on. My friendly local mechanic took it too another garage to have the fault codes read, they tried but could nt do it. They said the car wont do a self test and they cant read the computer & its asking for an 8 digit code, they also said they had problems because of the age of the car . Anyone have any ideas, I just want to get the codes read and the problems sorted for its MOT. :(

If the lights are on its doing a self test.
Sounds like they are fobbing you off.. age of the car??
is it a 1950's Scorpio?? ;D

Thanks for replying Highlander, I ve had internet problems so its taken a while. I m in Marske-by-the-sea on the northeast coast.

Sounds like cobblers to me, I'd take it to a garage that specialises in electrical got mine read the other week for a similar abs fault ;) all sorted now 88 + vat for the sensor + labour.

Yep try another garage, or you might have a member nearby who can do a scan for you? anyone?

I could do a scan but I'm near Colchester in Essex...quite away from the 'Northeast coast' I fear :(
