Hello

I come from sweden and i discoverd this very nice site.

I have a problem whit my 2,3.
When i give thottle slow the engine revs to the top.
If I floor the the thottle it stops at 3500-3900 revs.

I have checked around on the site but didn´t find anything that looked like my problem.

Could i be the cat thats clogged? Or the fuel filter? I noticed a small hose running from the throttle house back to a clock on the valvecover. I guess it is for the vacum. The hose was lose so i reattached it to the clock but no change.

Could please someone help me? I hope you understand my bad english.

I can add that i have changed the plugs and checked the wires to the coils.

Check cat & fuel pressure, if fuel pressure drops on hard acceleration suspect blocked fuel filter.

I will try this when i get of work. Do you know where the fuel filter is mounted? I looked in the PDF file on the fuel system but i didin´t quite make out where it is. I have looked everywhere in the enginebay but i can´t find it. I also followed the fuellines from the tank.

The fuel filter is mounted to the chassis above the rear near side (off side in your case) driveshaft :)

Also, check your air filter.

Now i have changed the fuelfilter and checked the airfilter but nothing helps.

Any other ideas?

Could it be the MAF sensor that needs cleaning?

EDIT: Cleaned the MAF Sensor and no change.

Hi. What about the EGR valve? This might be an issue :-/

Could be a bad cat, have you checked them?

I have a 24v from -96 and have a clogged cat(so said my Ford Garage). My car revs about 3000 maximum and I wait for a new cat from Germany. And as we say in sweden 'som ett brev på posten' as a mail from postoffice I got a balloned rad now. I know what to do with my next salary...... :P

has the 2 rubber pipes blown off the exhaust manifold/egr pipework?

there are so many things that could cause your faults, can you get an emission test done (4 gas not MOT, at idle & cruise speed) that should give a few pointers, even better in conjunction with a 'code' read & post results.

I will have the car on diagnostics on tuesday. Until then i have to drive a Sierra.

Did diagonstic test today and nothing appered. :(
Checked the exhaust and it flows normal.

Looking for a MAF sensor and try to see if it is that.

EDIT: Canged the MAF sensor, now the car runns great again. ;D
