Title: Instrument panel - lights some lights on...
Post by pappa on Jul 12th, 2007, 11:03am
Greetings fella Scorpionists!

I have a -97 Leather seated 24V on it's way from Germany.
It has reached Sweden without any trouble and have done
over two hours +200km/h on the autobahn - so the engine
should not be in bad shape  ;)

It has some problems, instrument lights (several warning
lights + all doors and hatches are "open") are on all the
time.

All the checks have been made to ensure that there's
water in the coolant system and that the doors are closed
etc...

Has anyone come across a phenomenan like this?

I don't know about the battery cover yet, but agree
already that moisture in the fuseboxe(s) can cause this
among other things.

Edit: coolant light, windscreen washer level light and all
the door + trunk lights are on AND the computer readout
shows zero all the time.

Edit 2: Airbag light blinks every now and then.

check the ashtray is not shorting out on the cigar lighter. Otherwise look to water in the fuse box. I am sure others  will be along with better and more comprehensive ideas.

Thanks Snoopy for that, will check and report!

But I'm  :o if that can cause a thing like that.

Mm... As a matter of fact, when I installed a new stereot
into my -93 Granny, I accidently made some bad connections
and the breakpump motor activated like if the ignition was
turned on to ACC.

So this should not be surprising after all ... :P

:(

Nope. The ashtray is not the reason, so it's probably one of
the fuseboxes. Well, next week I'll find out when  the car
comes home, but should anyone have had problems like
this, advice is greatly appreciated!
