Probably no-one fully understands what the problem is that you are trying to describe...

So when you use kickdown the revs rise but you have no drive (or drive is slipping)?

I'm wondering if you're not trully engaging kickdown but instead your simply getting the gearbox to change down a gear, so you get a little squirt of aceleration then it changes back up.  You then apply a little more throttle so it changes down again and then it changes up after another little bit of acceleration.

Kick down is activated by the throttle being fully depressed - you can feel it on the throttle without the engine even swicthed on - push you foot to the floor gently - it will feel like your at the end of the pedal travel, then psuh a little harder and you'll feel almost a positive "click" - that's the kickdown switch.

At 50mph, activating kick down will typically change down the box two gears, i.e. from 4th gear over drive to 2nd gear.  Simply pushing the throttle a little may only induce a change from 4th to 3rd - that is NOT kick down.

PLEASE stop SHOUTING AT US! We are trying to help .
In forum etiquette Caps is SHOUTING ..

It might just be a faulty or worn kick down switch causing the problem. IMHO it is easier to change down manually rather than use kick down and seems easier on the car .
