Title: 5000 Series Radio
Post by josswallace on Nov 3rd, 2007, 7:50pm
I have just written off my 1995 Ultima 12 valve which had a 2007, i think, series radio..............any way it was certainly a model that had a separate amp behind the glove compartment, and as a result I could not get my in car phone to use the radio speakers.

I have just got a P reg, 1997, Ultima with a 5000 series radio.

Can any one tell me if this model has an internal amp and whether an in car mobile phone could use the car's speakers.
If so any info on products etc would be appreciated.

Does the phone have a headphone socket? If so I guess it would work using the CD-changer-to-MP3 adapter I've been contemplating getting to hook up my MP3 player.

Look down the page to the CTVFOX001.

Note that I haven't bought this (yet), so this is not a recommendation from experience.

The 5000 has an internal amp and can be used with one of the purpose made phone kits which use the car speakers and mute the radio at the same time.

Wiring connections for the 5000 are as follows:

The parrot bluetooth kits use the car speakers and then can be used for any phone. Tele-mute manufacture the full wiring loom

Hope this helps
