My 2.0 16v Scorpio Auto wont engage 4 th . I havent got access to a code reader so I have cleaned the maf sensor and it has made no difference so now i think loom it may be loom problems
What i am going to try is running a new wire from pin 72 on the ecu to pin 9 of the transmission has anybody else done this ? did it work ? or is it a problem in the box ?

Check your fluid first must be red and not stinking also full.
Run it for 10 miles , go through all the gears 3 times and leave in P with engine running then check the level.

I had same problem with my 2.3 - auto box was shot!
