Title: cheap alarm fitted. cut siren wire??
Post by lucydog on Mar 8th, 2008, 7:10pm
hi all, i have an alarm on the car which is not factory fitted, you have to wave a immobilisor fob over an led light to start car, and i want to cut the wire/wires to the siren to stop it going off as it is a nightmare. is it as easy a cutting a wire or will that render the system in operative and not enable to start the car???. any ideas at all??. thanks..

Very doubtful ! cut it and see,if it does, reconnect it .

And if it does; change the siren for a 12V bulb; it won't awake you (or the neighbours!) at night.

Chances are the live feed to your alarm will be fused somewhere along the line.Wouldnt it be easier just to pull the fuse ? :-/
