Title: Front Wishbones
Post by gawsworthboy on Oct 8th, 2008, 1:49pm
Hi, just failed an MOT on wishbone wear...can these be repaired or does anyone have a set for sale???? Seems a lot of metal to throw away for just a ball joint replacement and Fords seem to cost a fortune for what they are....cheers.

Hi. yep...failed on both fronts...1997 2.3 16 valve ghia...done 160K though so I cant complain.....just seems daft to have to replace the entire wishbone part.

£187.86 + VAT from fordpartsuk : http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/scorpio_front_suspension_arm_kit_500.htm
That is for a complete kit.

i've always fitted second hand ones, see if anyones breaking  one just now. £200 plus seems a lot to spend on a Scorpio ;)

How does Highlander detect  balljoint wear in a used wishbone  before  he  fits it ?

Has he  the second sight,  a third eye  or  a talent for clairvoyance  ?  :-*

Tony_E, I can't talk for others on here, but I personally don't have a problem with the seller in question. I've bought a few bits off him & have found him a nice guy to get on with  :)
