Hi what should the distance be between the tyer and the arch. i can get 4 fingers on the front but no fingers on the back. just fitted a new spring on drivers side any body got any idear why there is no clearence on the back, dave

You fitted a new spring on the rear??

Sounds like springs are shot, maybe bushes though, got the right wheels/tyres on it?

it was the front drivers side a replaced now the front is up 4 fingers between wheel and arch and the back you cant get any fingers in, dave

ive today checked the springs they look new but have a yellow mark on each of them,shockers look naff would this alone make the car to low, dave

It's the springs that hold the car up,the shockers control the bounce,if they are inoperative the springs will be subject to more strain and will weaken prematurely.
