Have you tried replacing the fuel pump relay ?....big green one with purple top in battery side fusebox.....they are known to be a bit problematic :)

Definitely the pump. Had new relays etc. :-/

How's your DIY ?
Swapping out the tank is not too difficult. Get a complete tank & pump ( pump is in the tank, part of the sender unit ) and just change the whole thing. The fuel pipe connectors can be a bit fiddly but you can buy the special tool for them for around a tenner.
