Title: Flat battery Post by sjwagstaff on Dec 9th, 2010, 12:54pm Have tried to start car this morning ,battery as flat as a flat thing. RAC came out and jumped the car,uns and starts fine now. RAC man said wrong battery is fitted to the car ,what is recomended battery for the car? also negative terminal needs replacing, easy enough to do? what damage could wrong battery lead to?could it be the cause of my non working front fog lights? cheers |

Title: Re: Flat battery Post by zero on Dec 9th, 2010, 1:29pm if it a automatic it should have a higher rated battery for cold starts in the winter. if not your'll get the problem you have today, ie it won't start on a cold morning. you can test your battery is charging if you park near to a wall in the dark lights on, if you blip the throttle the lights should get brighter. you spotlight problem is probably a bad earth? |

Title: Re: Flat battery Post by Simmo on Dec 9th, 2010, 2:07pm The battery details are all Here (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/battery.htm). A lower spec battery will often turn the car over BUT not start it. These cars have a high current drain and need the power listed. ;) As stated this is unlikely to be the cause of your fog light problem. |
