Title: Scorpio radio 7000 rss eon Post by rockerdaveuk on Jan 11th, 2011, 7:00pm I have not used my scorpio 2.3 for 10 months and the battery has been dead for about 8 months. I have just fitted a new battery and everything works ok except the 7000 rds eon radio. The display lights up but It is blank and not displaying the word code. I do have the code for it. Any ideas would be welcome. Regards Dave |

Title: Re: Scorpio radio 7000 rss eon Post by Cosray on Jan 11th, 2011, 7:50pm ... either warm it up or freeze it - either will cure the display function because of "stuck" LCD molecules; no kidding! Ray |

Title: Re: Scorpio radio 7000 rss eon Post by rockerdaveuk on Jan 13th, 2011, 4:03pm Thanks for info. Put radio in my boiler cupboard for 24 hours but display still blank. Managed to get radio going by going through the motions of putting in the code but still blank. Got the hairdryer on it but still no luck. When you say freeze it does that mean in a fridge or freezer? Any other ideas. Thanks Dave |

Highlander, Just did a quick test. 1) When downloaded one should add the extension .exe since without it won't work. 2) When ran on my newest computer it reports"... that the app, cannot run beacuse infamous MSVBVM50.dll is not found / missing (on the computer) Of course that can be easily obtained and installed but not for the layman. Title: Re: Scorpio radio 7000 rss eon Post by Highlander on Jan 14th, 2011, 1:54pm when i download it it is a .exe file and it runs, is that maybe the problem safety features to prevent downloading .exe? I'll create a zip file and see if that helps ;) |

Downlaod & .exe is fine now however the infamous .dll is required and not on modern computers. See HERE: http://www.vistax64.com/general-discussion/270560-msvbvm50-dll-not-found.html Ray |

Title: Re: Scorpio radio 7000 rss eon Post by Technology2005 on Jan 14th, 2011, 2:08pm Hi Stuart, I already have this program but thought I'd just quickly test your link and can confirm that it does work. The file is now zipped up as you say and if the zip file is opened the executable file can be run straight from within by double clicking on it. David |

Title: Re: Scorpio radio 7000 rss eon Post by rockerdaveuk on Jan 19th, 2011, 1:27pm Thanks Highlander The radio display is now working. I removed the LCD display and put it in the freezer over night wrapped in a freezer bag. So the problem was either the molecules or a bad connection in the ribbon cable plugs or both? Is the VID number the same as the VIN number and if so how do you enter letters? Thanks again Dave |
