Title: Heater Blower Post by PJDavis on Aug 30th, 2014, 3:10pm The air blown out of the heater has become intermittent. I have tried a reset, and tried a different panel, still the same. If I turn the left blower switch to full-blast it seems to work better, but anything below that and the blower cuts in and out at random. It's driving me nuts! No-matter where on the scale the switch is turned to it cuts in and out, temperatures are good. At one very brief point, the 00 scale read 07 just for a split second, so is it the blower-motor switch bits under the bonnet? If so, anyone got a good-un? I also have a spare inside the dash bit with the ribbon cable coming off it, but would prefer not to b****r-about removing that part of the dash unless definitely necessary! Any pointers valued Peter |

Title: Re: Heater Blower Post by Glyn on Aug 31st, 2014, 12:06am Hi Peter I have had 2 similar episodes in the past 1 was due to worn /dirty potentiometer behind the climate control panel-improved by electrical contact spray, the other, which was more like yours 2 was due to a failed heater blower controller (the HBC) and was cured by a replacement Regards Glyn |

Title: Re: Heater Blower Post by PJDavis on Aug 31st, 2014, 10:09am Hey Glynn I'm thinking it's probably the HBC. I'll need to get one before winter really gets a grip up here. |

Title: Re: Heater Blower Post by amigafan2003 on Sep 6th, 2014, 2:20pm While we're on the heater blower - mine has the occasional small squeak or whistle at certain rpms - anyone have a solution or temporary fix that doesn't involved removing the blower? |

Title: Re: Heater Blower Post by Simmo on Sep 6th, 2014, 3:12pm Have a read of This page (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=admin;action=display;num=1278660411). Read down and you'll see that Gozz has an idea for solving this by drilling into the cover. We did sort a similar issue on Gost's car at a meet once by simply removing the HBC and spraying WD 40 inside. Did the trick. Worth a try. ;) |
