Title: Re: Program mode Post by pipino on May 11th, 2017, 12:56pm A big thanks to the members in this forum because my ford car is coming back to normal my remote works well now but the question now is online other brand of cars no light comes on or flashes when I operate my remote and when I press the lock button twice no sound or beep to indicate it's active but the doors lock |
||
|
Title: Re: Program mode Post by Tompion on May 11th, 2017, 2:31pm One press, the doors lock, the only indication should be flashing dash light. Two presses you hear the door locks twice, the indicators should flash after a second or so. The doors will be double locked. To test double locking leave a window open, reach in and try to open, the alarm will go off but you shouldn't be able to open the door. Unlock with the key to turn off the alarm. If the indicators didn't flash, there may be a fault such as the bonnet switch. |

Title: Re: Program mode Post by pipino on May 11th, 2017, 3:21pm When u said indicator flashing does that men the directional light or the dash light sir. My double lock and I can't open from inside but the alarm doesn't come on I have never had any sound from the horn that is behind the battery doss that mean it's faulty sir |

Title: Re: Program mode Post by Tompion on May 12th, 2017, 2:29am Direction indicators should flash when double locked. The alarm should sound if you've locked the car with the key or fob & try to open a door from inside by reaching through the window. Try one of the other doors. I assume the sounder behind the battery is connected - people sometimes disconnect them if they keep going off. |

Title: Re: Program mode Post by pipino on May 13th, 2017, 12:56am and is there anyway to test or reset because my doesn't flash |

Title: Re: Program mode Post by Glyn on May 13th, 2017, 1:03am I have 3 cars ,only one of them flashes the indicators when double locking. I have to listen for the door lock motors or watch for the alarm light (not easy in sunlight) or look at the door handles inside and watch them move. |
||
|
Title: Re: Program mode Post by Tompion on May 13th, 2017, 3:06am I think any fault will prevent the indicators flashing. With the bonnet down the bonnet switch earths the wire from the Central control module. If you have an estate a fault with the glass breakage sensors fitted to the 3 rear glass panels will prevent the indicators flashing. A cheap ELM327 scanner with free Forscan software can read the codes. It's normal to have some boot lock codes, if they're the only codes you'll need to clear them & see if they come back after locking & unlocking. |

Title: Re: Program mode Post by pipino on May 13th, 2017, 4:46am thanks to all for the suggestion sir. I think I should maintain the idea of listening to the lock motor or handle movement sir |

Title: Re: Program mode Post by pipino on May 21st, 2017, 4:17am @ Mr Tompio thanks sir for been there for me, one thing I observed is on the driver side door when closed the internal light goes off but on the instrument cluster the red indicator is showing door is open can this make the alarm and the flashing lights not work??? |

Title: Re: Program mode Post by Tompion on May 21st, 2017, 12:25pm Yes, I had the same happen with the passenger door. I was going to suggest it but thought you'd have mentioned it :) I don't know if it disabled the alarm but it disabled flashing indicators. With mine it was the switch had come out of the lock - not easy to get at, there are 2 switches, not sure if this link shows the right one: http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/doorlockrep.htm Either disconnect the battery or the plug leading to the door as it's quite possible to trigger global opening/closing which could be nasty if your hand's in the way. You can see the door ajar switch here, page 3 item 12: http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/body/closures/doorlockf.pdf |
