Title: cossie saloon for spares Post by vaughant on Oct 16th, 2006, 11:46pm Hi guy`s. Further to my engine problem post on the prob`s page, I can`t really see that i`m going to spend enough time and money on this instead of doing things elsewhere, so I have decided to offer it for spares/breaking. As I mentioned in the previous post the engine is smokey, could be fuel, could be wear, I think the former, but don`t really know, so that`s not really worth big bucks, but there are loads of good bit`s including: - 36000 mile auto box, perfect working order ( car can be driven to confirm this) - MINT biscuit leather interior - good clocks showing 128k - dipping mirror - all electrics O.K - 4/5 alloys with mint 16" tyres ( not teledial`s) - good bootlid, headlights,ok doors etc. -air con/abs all fine. If I can get good offers on the above, then i`ll break it and someone can take it away with the engine for spares or if i can get my £250 back, I`ll sell it complete as is. Reply to me on here or on 07999573474 or PM me for home phone number . I`m in swansea by the way. |

Title: Re: cossie saloon for spares Post by vaughant on Oct 17th, 2006, 10:10pm Hi mate, i`m not really near Cornwall, i`m in Swansea South Wa;es, although I suppose it depends on what part your in, but i still think were talking 200 miles at least. I MAY, and I stress MAY be able to deliver it for petrol cost`s, I say may, as I have a towing dolly, but these are big beasts to tow and I`m not sure of kerbweights etc. If your only after the wheels we could meet at the bridge for fuel money? |

Hi matt, yeah, it`s an ultima,95 model,24v cosworth ( of course!!). Met black with full biscuit leather. I`m looking to get my £250 back if possible. There does seem to be some interest in breaking, but only bits and bobs at the moment,i won`t and haven`t touched anything on it yet. Let me know what you think, i`ll be in work the next four day`s, but i`ll keep an eye on the computer. |

Title: Re: cossie saloon for spares Post by Matt on Oct 27th, 2006, 9:43pm hi vaughant, ive just been reading your other topic on the problems section, sounds silly but have you tried giving the car a good run? also whip off the breather pipe, when i bought my cossie it was all bunged up and could hardly breath. i would suggest whipping off the rocker covers and check for gunge/oil sludge, but it's a lot of work if your not going to keep the car |

Hi matt, thanks for the tip, i could have a quick look i suppose, it wouldn`t do any harm!! I drove the car back about 5 miles when i first got it, car drove superbly, but smoke did not improve at all, and still appeared under hard acceleration, although not noticably worse. Regarding your question, i don`t think it would be a very good idea to drive it that far, no tax or mot& the smoke and excessive fuel consumption, your mate with a low loader seems a very good idea, if your west mids your approx 2hr`s from me, i MAY be able to deliver it some of the way at east as I have a towing dolly, albeit with rather weak ramps! As i said, i`m not looking to make a profit on this car, just get my £250 back, which means a good bargain for you!!If your genuinley interested, which you seem to be, get back to me on here or PM me your number and i`ll phone you for a chat. Kind regards, Vaughan. |

Title: Re: cossie saloon for spares Post by Matt on Oct 29th, 2006, 10:30am cosworth - excessive fule consumption, sounds about right lol i wouldnt take it down the motorway, to many things to catch you out on them. i have a cossie myself and was thinking of joining the AA or RAC anyway, maybe i can get them to pick it up?? do you have any pics of the car?? TT what car do you have? i have a 2.3 egr you can have for free, as it's stuck to the exhaust manifold (it would come off it you could get it in a vice)?? either collect or pay postage i can cut the manifold down to lighten it up a bit |
