Hi any one got an auto dimming mirror, mine is only going half road up mirror for some reason?

Have a read of This (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/pcmirror.htm). It has degraded and could well 'leak' out the corrosive contents as explained in Snoopy's article. Best to remove it or at least protect the centre console area. IF you remove it take care. The mirror slides on to a plate which is fixed to the screen. It needs a sharp tug keeping your knuckles in line with the slope of the screen. DO NOT pull it towards the interior of the car as you'll likely break the screen. You'll need to release the interior light fitting to extract the electrical connection from behind the headlining. :)

Went for a ride in my car yesterday, looked in the mirror and thought it needed cleaning, then noticed a blob of what looked like black mastic on the bottom of it, mine has just gone. The centre console has a very small mark on it, you have to look hard to see it, bit of luck there then. Is there a mirror which could be used as a replacement, auto dimming that is.
