Title: Scorpio Executive NOW SCRAPPED Post by galahad on Jul 12th, 2007, 6:46pm Change of plans, so I no longer have time to sort this car out for the MOT, I've got a crazy amount of cars at auction and I need to start wading through them :( Ok, its a P plate 2.0 16v Executive model with 64,000 miles, has some service history. I picked it up as scrap can you believe! Realised as soon as I saw it it was far too good. It failed the MOT on lower arms and brake discs on the front, which I haven't had time to fit, but I have a full set of lower arms (used) and brake discs (used) in the boot of the car ready to go on. Sunroof was also smashed (the final straw for the original owner), so I have refitted the glass (not an amusing job to do!!), still needs some of the broken glass vacuuming out to aid smooth operation of the roof, but at least it now closes. Also supplied with the car is a complete Cosworth leather interior. Rear seats already fitted (the original cloth rear seats have been binned), still has the original cloth seats in the front, as I simply don't have time to complete the car. Also comes is a spare complete rear seats. Also to help sweeten the deal, is a pair of complete 2.9 V6 struts with calipers, discs and pads, and I think I still have the rear discs and calipers and pads to throw in as well. According to the original owner of the Cosworth Scorpio, they had only done about 300 miles before the autobox died for the 3rd time, so after a bit of wearing in, all the rust will clear to reveal good discs. There is NO MOT and NO TAX!!! The car drives fine, needs a d**n good clean, but underneath all the muck is a good car. Rear bumper has a small crack, and one of the rear doors has a bit of rust on the bottom edge (not too serious. Colour of the car is a dark blue with a hint of green (will get up pictures if people need to). Has some service history, has original Ford tape deck with code. I also replaced the rear lights with the more modern black edged ones as the original silver edged ones were damaged. And how much am I asking for this beast? £180, absolutely NO OFFERS!!!! Theres nearly half a tank of fuel in her, she drives, and at this price with the extra Cosworth stuff, shes a bargain..... and you lot know it! ;) I'm not in the habit of scrapping cars for the sake of it, but I am also not a charitable home for lame Scorpios (I have enough lame cars!), so this car ideally needs to find a new home by the end of the weekend, I need the room, and if its not gone by the weekend, I may seriously have to consider taking a few bits off it and binning the rest, but I'd much rather see it saved or at least put it to good use keeping others on the road. £180, and I live in the BA3 postcode area of Bath, Avon near Bristol. |
