Title: errm! Post by darton on Oct 8th, 2004, 7:00pm Hi all! I recently went on hols to scotland for two weeks and none stop work from then on when I got back,So This is the first night on the site for a good while (5 weeks?) I went on holiday as a full member and came back to being a newbie? ??? Is there some problem? ? Darton. |

Post by Fitzy on Oct 8th, 2004, 7:18pm Hi Darton, While you was away mate the sites server crashed, all due to the hurricanes in America and because of this a lot of posts were lost from late May 2004 upto early September 2004, Admin was unable to back up the site everyday due to the high costs involved but hey thats life no ones to blame for this except mother nature, so we all lost our ratings some members even had to rejoin, EricR and others have worked really hard to retrieve some pages, ithink they have retrieved almost all of them now so we are up and running now and Admin are able to back up the site daily due to financial and technical help from some members, so we should be ok from now on what ever mother nature throws at us. However, Steve C has backup hardware now connected, so we shouldn't have quite the same disaster again. I have recovered all the missing pages with the help of Baz, John S and Vulcan and I've completed a review of the pages structure. I hope pages are now easier to find. ;D |
