Hi all, not sure if this is allowed, so if not then sorry. But here is a link of my current scorpio and its history http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/sdetails.htm Basically, I want to upgrade to a 2.9 Cosworth Ultima by the end of the year. However, seeing as my car has fairly low mileage I was wondering what you guys think the minimum is that I should let it go for Thanks in advance for your advice any comments welcome too.

Had this before... those links to the reader's wives section don't work for some reason. That's why admin put in a box for typing in a name as well as a location. We'll just have to search harder to find you. Whereabouts are you from Mark?

A reply of my details of my car. Sorry for any inconveinence Reasons for Purchase This veichle was going to be used for testing at a company called VCA (where my dad works). It was sat in their garage since it was made waiting to have brake tests carried out on it. However, these tests were never carried out and alls the card did for a few years was move in and out of a garage where it was stored to make way for other veichles being tested. VCA finally decided to auction the car off because it was taking up space and the brake tests were no longer to go ahead. My mum and dad bought this car for around 5k with 500 miles on the clock. No its not a typo, 500 miles. The car still had the writing on the windscreen from when it was manufacturerd by Ford and also had the blue scratch protectors on the Stainless Steel strips when opening the doors. In essence this car was brand new. My parents owned it for a couple of years, (mainly used by my mum for work). However, she has had to retire due to ill health and could no longer drive. Thats where I come in. I bought the car off my parents in September 2003 with less than 17000 on the clock. Since then i've cruised to university and back effortlessly up and down the motorway. This car is very comfortable indeed and very quiet at motorway speeds. Petrol was a but hefty, but that was going from a 1.1 Peugeot 106. But otherwise, the petrol is very reasonable for the size of car. However, I am 6'5 and find this car difficult to get in and out of when parked next to cars. It seems that the door needs to be opened fairly wide in order to clear the fancy stainless steel strips. And when getting into the car, I find it difficult to get into the seat due to the steel frame in the seat that holds the driver in place. These dont give at all. I drove an MG ZT 190 earlier this year and by comparison it was so easy to climb in and out of. Overall though I am happy with this car as it has only failed me once due to a battery. I am looking to change it for a 2.9 Cosworth Ultima by the end of the year Work undertaken by Owner Only work carried out by myself was the fitting of a high level rear brake light. This was relatively easy and straight forward considering I have pretty much no hands on mechanical experience. ONe thing though. There are correct holes already made for fitting a thrid brake light. However, these were too near the rear screen for me to use them as my light fouled on it. Therfore, I have to make my own holes further away from the window. A L.E.D. for the trip computer has gone and also the trip computer sometimes fails to change mode when the button is pressed. So possibly a lose connection. Also the controls for the headlights do not light up. The round knob and the the different settings above. The above settings light up fine. Only major work done was a new exhaust was fitted do to the deteriation of the old one from when it was sat in the garage. This was done by a proper mechanic and not myself. Otherwise, with the exception of normal servicing and wear and tear i.e. brake pads, nothing much has gone wrong. EDIT: My Car has now done just under 36000 miles forgot to add the important bit

| Have messaged you back Those figures are surprising considering what people are trying to get for higher model motors with like 150,000+ miles on them

Thanks Mark, I know what you mean - and I'm sure you would get a good deal on yours with history like that! If/when you are ready to sell it come back here first as I'm sure other owners would appreciate the value better than dealers!! Regards Daven
