I have always used magnatex 10/40 in my cossies (5) and have never had a problem. I also change oil and filter every 6 months regardless of miles. john.n

My thought too! I have just had a garage service the car but have now decided like yourself to drop the oil again and try Magnatec and hopefully this liquid gold will perform wounders

So nearly said "goodbye" but now Scorpio will see another day, alongside the replacement! eek!

Have had a small rattle on cold start-up since owning mine (20 months). We've been on Magnatec since April but I really couldn't say I've seen any improvement. Still got the rattle I think there's only one course of action if you're to keep the car. I wouldn't go looking at Magnatec to be a miracle cure.

thanks all for the feedback, seems other than replacement the only way is to bury the go fast pedal hard into the carpet and crank for a few seconds on cold start and then restart with no gas and this preloads the tensioners, great advice from a fellow scorp owner i might add, regards, gaz

Any oil wont cure mechanical wear, but a good one- such as Magnatex will slow down /prevent any further wear. As the old saying goes- oil is the heart of the engine! john.n
