Calling Hants locals-reputable garages?

I live in Gosport and would like to know if there are any reputable garages nearby that I can take my Scorpio to?
I think the wheel bearings are gone (but not sure as I'm no expert) I would like the rest of the car thoroughly checked over and I would like the autobox oil and filter changed.
When it comes to garages I have a "trust" problem and am always left wondering if the mechanics "make up" problems. I haven't got the knowledge to question their advice or do it myself, nor do I have the facilities at home to conduct more than an oil/filter change etc. ( I can do the basic servicing, but when you start talking ball joints and bushes etc I wouldn't know where to start)
Also-as the Scorpio is an aquired taste and slightly more demanding of a good mechanic (who perhaps has some Scorpio experience), I would like to know if any of you could point me in the right direction of a good, reliable garage hopefully close by
