Hi all Can any one tell me if the standard 7000 radio is a double din or 1.5 din fitting. I assumed that it was double having never heard of 1.5 until tonight unless of course that what I had read was just simply a typo. Many thanks OddJob

OddJob, the early Ford Radios are single DIN (model 2007 etc) The units that fit into the Galaxy (MFD Navigation etc.) are double DIN The Scorpio, Fiesta, Focus etc are actually 1.8 DIN I know this because I have one of the Galaxy Sat Nav units ready for when my wife gets hers next year and that is too big for the scorpio!! If you are looking at the VNR nav unit, it does fit can be a bit tight. Make sure you keep all of the wiring well out of the way as it can catch and chaff or rub the insulation away. How do I know this??................how do you think!! You will also need to adapt the plastic lug that fits onto the rail that holds the radio behind the hole so that it slides in and out easily, the 7000 radio and the VNR are different so this needs to be done as well otherwise the whole weight of the unit will only be supported by the plastic dashboard and the VNR is a very heavy radio Baz
