My Scorpio had only one bulb working in the instrument panel when I bought it last year. The bulbs I removed were 3W The new 3W bulbs didnt seem to make the dash as bright as I would have liked it so I replaced them with 5W bulbs. Now I dont know if 3W is the correct spec or what the maximum load on the dash lights should be but mine have been in for over a year now and no problems, been back in twice to check. Heres a pic, taken at 60mph with a mobile phone so sorry for the quality http://atlas.walagata.com/w/highlander250469/Dash_Bulbs.jpg

I've looked at that dozens of times but never noticed the numbers required before I must get round to it - they're dying one by one. John B.
