Auto gearboxes

Hello all We have been having problems trying to source a 2.3 auto box. The boxes we have been offered are 2.9 from a Nreg a 2.3 manual now 2.0 auto.
My question is, is the 2.0 auto box the same as a 2.3auto.  Up to here with it all

PS; if anyones got a 2.3 auto please help.
But monies low as I've just had to put an engine in it.

yes and no. the 2.0 doesn't have as make clutches as the 2.3. basically it won't handle the power of the 2.3, but how often will you be gunning it?
