Cossie Starting/Running Problem??

Hi peeps!
My dad has got a 97 ultima 24v.... has suddenly developed a problem.... the 1st time, was my brother went to use it, started it up, everything o.k, then just as he was about to pull away, it died. He tried to re-start it, but it was just turning over, firing, then stopping. We went to start it the following day, and the same thing happened, started, run for a minute or so, died, try to re-start, just turning over, firing, then stopping. It stood abandoned for a couple of weeks, then we tried it again, now its just firing, then stopping all the time. We have checked for sparks etc, all o.k, and changed the fuel filter, and petrol is passing through this o.k. and we have fuel at the 2 x pipes down on the nearside front chassis member next to the engine. Can anyone shed any light on what we can try next?? Thanks guys.

Fuel pressure regulator? Something preventing the injectors from opening? Is there getting fuel into the cylinders when turning over?

Still not starting.... not sure bout any of the above. Would a OBD scan show anything??
