Cured gearbox problem

Just to let anyone know who have similar problem, I had my gearbox replaced last year but have suffered from a violent thump between 1st and 2nd gear. I cleaned the MAFF etc but to no avail. So decided to change the Air Flow meter completely. Now the car changes very smoothly like new. Only cost £30 from a breakers. Hope this may help someone

it happened to me and i did the same if its dirty cleaning will cure if its damaged it needs replacing

How was the MAF broken ?, was one of the tiny wires broken ?....if not, then possibly a fault with the circuitry

i think it was one of the above on mine fault was found at auto gearbox specialist were it had been repaired eighteen months before i supplied a spare maff which cured the erratic gear changes . and only got charged £20 did not look at the maff before binning it ,
