rear lights

hi all after searching for a replacement rear light cluster for my 1998 cossie saloon, it's become apparent that they're as rare as rocking horse s**t. the ones that i have found are around the same price as a new unit from Ford themselves (approx £100). i was wondering if i could fit the pre-facelift lights to my scorpio as these seem to be ten a penny and replacing both the lights and bumper light strip will be cheaper for me. are there any technical constraints? thanks in advance leon
