thanx for your advice on this,as to the thought of dismantling the windscreen to attempt to try and fix the element would've given me nightmares

<<< only by replacing the windscreen. £70 (or less) if you have fully comp insurance.>>>> Are you certain that an Insurance Co. will replace the screen just because the heater element is shot ? I shall investigate the small print in my policy

Surely if the windscreen is cracked then the heater won't work anyway

I'd feel bad about defrauding the Insurance company by making a false windscreen claim .............hold on a minute, ..........they diddle millions of pounds out of millions of policy holders every day. Where's that hammer ?

I was shocked when I bought my scorp - it was the ONLY ford i've ever owned with a heated screen that WORKED on the drivers side Nothing worse than pressing the button and giving the passenger perfect vision in seconds
