Left rear foglight goes on randomly

Noticed a funny phenomenon today. Had driven the car with normal lights on. Then I shut engine and lights off. I lock the car, and notice the rear foglight is on. I double check that blinkers are in the middle position and test the light switch. Still remains on. Then I decide to try turning power on and off, and then the foglight shuts down.
Any ideas what is causing this? Is this at all common? On my other car (Skoda Octavia), blinkers on while engine+power is off causes the brakelight on corresponding side to illuminate.
It's the first time this has happened. All lights work correctly, so I doubt any loose connection.

might be a bit of dampness in the fuseboxes, but also check all the earth points for the lights.
