Speaker Fitting Advice

Hi Guys, I'm going to have to fit some new speakers in the Scorp as the factory ones are to say the least quite dismal. I've been reading and some peeps have fitted 6x9s either with or without the OEM speaker grille. Before I make a right hash of it with some nice 6x9s, does anyone have any advice they can give on fitting them into the OEM housing?

the rear grills will need to be opened up then cut/inlarged in order to fit the 6x9's ( a dremmel is handy for this) then you might have to cut out the metal speaker mount out of the parcel shelf for depth

Thanks for that Matt. I'm going to have a stab at it today, I might look into removing the OEM housing and having the new speaker grilles showing. I hope that I can securely mount the new ones correctly. Cheers!

I took the OEM speaker/housing off today to inspect the situation. There's a huge hole in the shelf underneath the housing, flip know why such a big hole. I'm going to have to rebuild around the huge hole and recover the shelf in something nice so I can put in some nice 6x9s. Popping in some replacement 5x7s looks like quite a task as the OEM housing is all glued and fixed together. So I'm going to go the whole hog.

Hi Matt, Is that Fletchers Auto Store, part of Oscott's? We have the Oscott Trade Center here in Coventry.
