Am I right in thinking that when the autobox gets sluggish I need to change a filter in the autobox? if so where is it and how would I know if its that?. Only sluggish when cold. 2.3 1997

Is there sufficient fluid in the box ? Get it checked. What's its colour like ? The filter is an internal part of the autobox and is easily replaceable, if a bit messy, easier if you have access to a hoist or lift.
